History

The geneology of the Nygard family revolves around Catherine.

Catherine was the first child of Alessandro Melchiorre and Virginia Nave DeSantis. She was born in Norristown, PA and then moved with her family to Ridley Township in the 1920's. She was baptized at Holy Saviour Church in Norristown.

Catherine attended Ridley High School and after high school got a job at Westinghouse as a secretary. It was soon after high school that she met her husband, Carl Nygard and they proceeded to have six children: Catherine Nygard Hasson, Carl Nygard, Craig Nygard, Carol Ann Nygard, Caren Nygard Cornman and Charles Nygard.
